The Karnataka School Examination and Evaluation Board (KSEAB) has issued a circular saying that it is advisable to conduct the SSLC Examination 2024 at Hobli, Taluk, and District Centers instead of holding it at cluster-free/independent examination centers as far as possible.
A total of 3,305 examination centers were created across the state for the SSLC examination held in 2023. Of these, there were 724 examination centers in district centers Hobli centers 755 in taluk centers, 604 in Hobli, centers, and 1,222 in rural areas. This means that one-third of the state’s SSLC examination 2024 centers were located in rural areas.
SSLC examination 2024 circular?
Now it has been decided to reduce the number of examination centers in rural areas and create more examination centers in Hobli, Taluk, and District Centres. KSEAB has suggested that only in case of unavoidable circumstances i.e. hillock, dam, forest, riverbed area, and other natural reasons, the rules of the examination center can be relaxed.
The number of examination centers should be reduced by reducing examination centers in rural areas and creating examination centers only in Hobli, T, taluk, and district headquarters. KSEAB has justified its conclusion that as this number decreases, the authorities of the department will be in charge and the authorities at all levels will be able to monitor.
10 km It is suggested that high capacity examination centers should be created at cluster level by adding 8-10 schools in the range.
Otherwise, only 24 students should be allocated to each room, it is suggested that only high schools with basic facilities and pre-graduation colleges and graduate colleges should be selected as examination centers with a minimum of 400 to a maximum of 800 students in each sslc examination center.
It has been suggested that schools with compounds around the school, CCTV cameras, transport systems for students to attend the examination center, and roads to distribute the question papers safely at the scheduled time should be made as examination centers.
What was the reason for the decision?
It is a matter of concern that there are widespread complaints about copying/mass copying in the ESL examination. This is an embarrassment to the education department. So it is the primary duty of all the officers and teachers of the department to prevent examination malpractice. In this regard, KSEAB said that the most important task is to create examination centersbeforeo the examination. Thereby reducing the number of sslc examination centers, allocating more human resources and modernizing measures to curb examination malpractices.
We have issued guidelines to reduce the number of examination centers so that there is no shortage of examination invigilators. We will cut the test centers where they are not essential.
