Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya is an ambitious initiative by the Govt. of Odisha to provide quality education in English medium to rural talents of Odisha at no cost/nominal cost. Till now 314 OAVs are functional in 313 blocks of the state. Phase-wise establishment of OAVs is as given in TABEL 1. It started establishing 100 OAVs in 100 blocks in the academic year 2016-17. All OAVs are CBSE-affiliated Vidyalayas. OAVS admission 2024 The entry-level is Class VI and it has been planned to make these institutions centers of excellence with the provision of education up to Class XII. Students are admitted in Class VI in Class VII/ VIII/ IX under lateral entry by appearing through a common entrance examination.
The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, has releasing soon an important notification regarding the OAVS Admission 2024 for the academic year 2024-25. This notification specifically pertains to the admission process for students who wish to join Class 6th, as well as for those seeking lateral entry into Classes 7th, 8th, and 9th at the prestigious OAVS Schools. OAVS Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria
I.Students who are permanent residents of the State of Odisha are only eligible for admission into OAVs.
II. Candidate seeking admission in Class VI to any OAVs must be continuing/passed Class V/ continuing Class VI during the academic session 2023-24. The minimum age of the candidate seeking admission in Class VI should be 10 or more than 10 years and 12 or less than 12 years as on 31st March 2024.
III. Candidate seeking admission in Class VII to any OAVs must be continuing/passed Class VI during the academic session 2023-24. The minimum age of the Candidates seeking admission in Class VII should be 11 or more than 11 years and 13 or less than 13 years as on 31st March 2024.
IV. Candidate seeking admission in Class VIII to any OAVs must be continuing/passed Class VII during the academic session 2023-24. The minimum age of the Candidates seeking admission in Class VIII should be 12 or more than 12 years and 14 or less than 14 years as on 31st March 2024.
V. Candidate seeking admission in Class IX to any OAVs must be continuing/passed Class VIII during the academic session 2023-24. The minimum age of the candidate seeking admission in Class IX should be 13 or more than 13 years and 15 or less than 15 years as on 31st March 2023. VI. Students passing out of schools running under state Government/ ICSE/ CBSE/Odia medium private institutions are eligible for taking admission in OAVs provided that the institution possesses a Certificate of Recognition (CoR) from the state government concerned for the class and academic session last studied.
OAVS Application Criteria
I. Students can apply for taking admission in only one OAV and for only one
Class for a given academic year as applicable.
II. A student is eligible to apply for admission in an OAV corresponding to his/her native residential block only.
III. If desired Class is not present in the OAV of the native block of the student, then he/she can apply for any OAV of the concerned district at which desired class is present subject to existing vacancy.
IV. If the desired class is present without any vacancy in the OAV of the native block of the student, then he/ she is not eligible for applying for any OAV of the concerned District/ state at which desired class is present with existing vacancy.
V. Students already continuing their study in any Class and any OAV are not eligible to apply.
VI. The Child belonging to the respective block but continuing his/ her academic class as applicable in a school of any block other than the native block is eligible to apply, provided he/ she has to produce the residential certificate..
Documents required for OAVS Admission 2024
a. Birth Certificate of the student.
b. Transfer Certificate (TC) from the head of the institution last studied.
c. Date of Birth/ Student’s Name/ Father’s Name/ Mother’s Name as
mentioned in Transfer Certificate (TC) issued in favor of student by
School/ Institution/ Vidyalaya last studied shall be treated as final.
d. Document in support of Social Category (Caste Certificate from
competent authority) as filled up during online registration.
e. Persons with Disability (PwD) certificate from the competent authority in
support of disability as filled up during online registrationÂ
f. Residential Certificate from Tahsildar/ Sarpanch/ Councilor in support of residence as filled up during online registration. g. Certificate of Recognition (CoR) in support of the institution the last studied, if the last studied institution is a Private institution.
h. Employer certificate of the Parent/ guardian if the candidate intends to
avail of State Govt. employee quota/ State PSU quota.
i. Residence certificate in favor of serving State govt./ State PSU
employees issued by Head of Institution/ employer.
j. Aadhar Details of Student, Parent/ guardian.
